Boats previously owned have included;
Sunset Song a 1980 Westerly Konsort (Fin Keel) was our first “sailing yacht” and she was a smashing boat that had been completely refurbed by her previous owner, she was easy to handle, and a very safe boat.
Seabright a 1975 Super Sovereign 35 (Number 18) was a “proper little ship” which gave us a lot of fun and adventure, whilst at the same time teaching us the vagaries of long keel yachts! She was however subsequently sold and is currently (2007) being sailed to New Zealand by Dave Naylor and his family. Update: I am pleased to say that I had a note from Dave confirming their safe arrival in New Zealand, and he said they were more than delighted with the overall comfort and safety of Seabright………well done to all in sailing to NZ safely!
For information on Sovereign 35’s simply access this link to the web site on which Peter Charles has worked hard to pull together a substantial amount of (very interesting) information on these lovely yachts, built by Uphams of Brixham (plus some hulls/internal fit outs by AN Other).
Both of these boats provided a lot of fun and were in excellent condition (for their year) when sold.
